TivoHME.NETThe TivoHME.NET project is a Microsoft .NET platform implementation of the Tivo HME protocol. The goal of this project is to provide a .NET platform on which HME applications can be built. HME applications are applications that run on a host PC, with the user interface running on your television using the Tivo interface. Many applications have already been built in Java on the HME platform, and the ultimate goal here is to provide a platform that .NET developers can use and feel comfortable with to develop applications as well. This is the first version of the TivoHME.NET project. It is based on the .NET 1.1 framework. Although .NET 2.0 is now available, the older framework was used as the basis for this project since the tools are more widely available for that framework version. This is just the first version of the software. Subsequent versions will include controls very similar to Windows Forms controls and most likely Visual Studio designers to allow you to create HME applications from within Visual Studio. That is not yet ready for release. To use this toolkit, you must first download the Bonjour software from Apple. The software is found on the Apple Developer site. In addition to Bonour, you will also need the Rendezvous .NET library. The most current version can be found at Aspecto Software. I have included a slightly earlier version of this software in the zip file, but I have not modified it and if there are any problems, you should check at the Aspecto Software link.
